On the front of the coin the Space Shuttle is in space with it's cargo bay doors extended while the robotic arm launches a satellite. The back of the coin depicts the official Kennedy Space Pen Cent "Space Shuttle" logo. This coin was minted just 5 miles from Kennedy Space Center, in Titusville, Florida.

It contains the physical engraved graphic of Neil Armstrong standing on the Moon's surface, the American Flag positioned on the Moon, the profile of the Earth in the background and the names of the 3 world famous Astronauts that made this historic flight: Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin. Along with this limited edition 25th Anniversary Space Pen is the collectible antique bronze coin is a limited edition custom minted antique bronze Apollo XI coin. On the front of the coin it signifies the Apollo XI patch "The Eagle Has Landed". Lt. Colonel Ron Mumm, when he was Commander of the Thunderbirds, asked Fisher to design a pen with a "gripping knob," to allow easy removal and replacement from the small, inside lower leg pocket of the pilots' flight suits. Approved in 1997, the Thunderbird Space Pen with its pilot-designed plunger is the writing instrument used by the pilots.

The CH4 series of Space Pens is another model that, from a construction standpoint, can also be taken on all manned space flights. It's all brass and steel construction makes this space pen durable. The CH4 series are noticably slimmer than most space pens with a .320 diameter. They have a side button retract mechanism and a top plunger to extend the point. The CH4 series space pens come in chrome, black matte, gold or black grid. I've personally had my G4 for over 4 years and it looks almost as good as the day I bought it!
